“Naked Heart” is the latest release from pop singer and Conquer artist, Melanie Lynx.  This record is the soundtrack to summer love; going from love lost to love bliss, and everything in between.  “Naked Heart” boasts club-fueled pop arrangements paired with a strong, powerful pop vocal, and is surely one for the record books (and radio)!

TRACKLIST

1.  “Wasted”

I love the synth and pop production on this song.  It starts out very pretty, and Melanie’s strong vocal comes in subtly.  Singing of love lost, past regrets, Melanie’s passion comes through in every word in this song.  The dark drum beat matches perfectly with the lyrical ambience, reminding me of Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” but with a more of a pop emphasis.  A great opener!

2.  “Perfectly Flawed” 5tapes

Easily one of my favorite songs on the record, this song is a complete shift from the last.  Melanie sings of personal empowerment, living life, and being happy with who you are.  I love the guitar solo breaks out and takes you by surprise on this track and the strong, punchy snare and kick perfectly blend in.  This song is dance pop through and through, and I love every bit of it!  It should be playing on the radio right now!

3.  “First Time”

Taking the vibe down a notch, this song has a sweet tone to it; immediately reminding me of the production on the old Britney Spears record, “Sometimes I Run”.  I love the vocal production and how even though it’s a slower produced track, it still encompasses a dance-like energy underneath.  Melanie’s vocals belt highs and lows throughout the song, and the Queen-esque vocal break before the last chorus is killer!  A great pop song tribute to new love and all of the feelings that come along with it.

4.  “I Spy”

An ode to love-at-first-sight, this track is full of pop punch from the very beginning.  Melanie’s strong vocal draws you in, followed by a driving pop beat and dance inspired synth chords.  This song has a Kesha-type vibe, with a much stronger vocal lead.  A very danceable track, I could hear this being played in the Top 40-dance clubs across the country.

5.  “Naked Heart” 5tapes

The title track to the EP, this song shows the vulnerable, fragile side to Melanie Lynx.  The lyrics tell it all, “Let me show you where I hide my scars, let me show you my naked heart”.  The first legitimate ballad, this song captures every feeling that goes with a wounded, broken heart.  The R&B-like drum beat mixed with the subtle acoustic guitar and occasional piano key bring out the strong vocal presence even more, and help bottle that vulnerability into a great pop ballad.
