Combining the expressive, powerhouse vocals of Jessie J, the genre-hopping sounds of Gwen Stefani and the animated exuberance of Katy Perry births the magnetism of Lynx.  Born in a small Rhode Island town, Lynx, formerly Melanie Lynx, became passionate about singing, songwriting, and connecting with an audience.  She began performing at a young age at world-renowned venues, including The Apollo Theater, Carnegie Hall, and during college, competed in Hollywood Week on Season 10 of Fox’s “American Idol.”

In 2009, Lynx began her studies at Berklee College of Music, studying with hit-songwriter and Warner Music executive, Kara DioGuardi, honing her pop songwriting chops.  It is in college where she met her current band members as well.  Lynx’s original music reflects her influences as diverse as the young Britney Spears and TLC to pop legends Madonna and Michael Jackson.

When her debut EP, “Naked Heart,” was released in March 2013, the band embarked on the “Naked Heart Tour”, a one-week east coast tour with multiple shows in Syracuse, NYC, Boston, Wellesley, New Haven, Providence, Philadelphia and a special acoustic appearance in downtown Los Angeles. Melanie and her powerhouse vocals performed live with the full band (electric guitar, bass, drums, keys, and effect tracks) in local clubs and large performance venues.  The “Naked Heart” EP garnered 600+ downloads, was praised by both bloggers and fans, including by at-the-time official blogger for the Grammy’s, Arjan Writes, who gave the EP “5 out of 5 stars”.

She has additionally been featured in countless blogs including on celebrity, Perez Hilton’s homepage, Love Twenty, Motif Magazine, Teen Diaries, Her Campus, and was selected multiple times to be a part of “Live Music Week” for WERS, the #1 college radio station in the country, along with artists like Ladyhawke, LP, Allen Stone, and Good Old War.  This year, Lynx and her band played on the 2014 Van’s Warped Tour on the female-fronted ShiraGirl stage which was also shared by singer, Haley Williams of Paramore.  Online, Lynx is also thriving, as she’s racked up 77,000+ YouTube views of both cover songs and originals, and is steadily building a loyal following across the board.
