This week’s submission is Mystery from pop artist Sol. So-Cal native is an emerging artist with an “intimate” energy and it especially comes across in her debut track, “Mystery”. A collab with Connor Irias, a.k.a. Auralponic), this musical pairing can give the Ke$ha’s and XCX’s of the world a run for their money.
I love the sexy pop and tribal feel of this track. Immediately, along with the enticing bongo and African like beat, then come her Minogue like vocals that pull you further in. I also love the little additives to the beat, like the deep echo kick and cymbal rings. It took me listening to it a few times to listen to the lyrics because the production was so spot on.
This song just oozes pop goodness. I do wish there were some more elements besides drum and bass guitars to compliment her vocals more. Although I do love the subtle auto tune effects used in the chorus to add even more popiness. I’m a fan of a good pop track, and I definitely will be checking out what else Sol has to offer.
