Last night I had the pleasure of attending one of my favorite musician’s opening show, Sarah Borrello, for her tour to support her latest release, “Exit”.  It was my first time seeing Sarah live, and after being a fan of hers for a few years, I can honestly say it was hands down one of the best shows I’ve attended all year.

Sarah performed for approximately an hour, and every song she played was a different energy and passion than the one before it.  At times, I thought she was going to either break her fingers, or break her keys with how she pounded the chords!  From her newest material, “Gimme Gimme Gimme” and “Stranglehold”, to an amazing piano cover of The White Stripes’ original, “Seven Nation Army”, her unique vocal tone and passion exudes from her, and are unmatched with even the biggest contenders today.

The upper level of the Manhattan East side venue, “Piano’s,” was small, yet intimate enough for the stellar performance Sarah put on.  Each song ended with a burst of applause, and the audience in attendance ate up every bit of it.  By the end of the night, I wound up purchasing three copies of Sarah’s latest release, “Exit”.

All in all, it was a wonderful night well spent, and well worth the $20 cab ride.  I had the privilege to meet one of my favorite artists out today, hear her music live for the first time, and even talked to her for a bit after the show ended.  It was a memorable night that I will be talking about for weeks to come!
